The mission of the Municipal Court is to collect fines and fees, issue warrants and writs of arrest, and maintain accurate records.  This will be achieved by the following actions:

• Providing well-trained staff
• Ensuring that no warrants of arrest are issued without probable cause to support the warrant
• Providing court administration to guarantee that persons who come before the court receive fair treatment

FY 06 Goals

1. Work with the Police Department to implement a weekend Trash Detail and develop a method of targeting areas needing special clean up attention on a frequent basis by September 30, 2006.
2. Monitor the collection of delinquent accounts on a quarterly basis to improve the rate of collections.
3. Work with Information Technology to develop a plan for wireless computer capabilities in the courtroom by September 30, 2005.
4. Complete relocation of all Municipal Court functions to the Gomillion Building by November 1, 2005.
5. Implement a microfilm filing system for easy access and retrieval of records by September 30, 2006.
