LifeguardsEmployee is responsible for monitoring activities at the City's swimming pool and related facilities, enforce all safety rules and perform life saving and first aid procedures as necessary. The work is performed under the supervision of the Pool Manager, but considerable flexibility is granted for the exercise of independent judgement and initiative. An employee in this class performs the duties of other employees as required or as assigned by supervisory personnel. The principal duties of this class are performed in the environment of a community pool requiring attention to several persons at any given time. Responsibilities and Tasks Monitors swimming pool and all related facilities during assigned shifts to ensure and enforce safety codes and standards and prevent injuries and fatalities. Cautions swimmers regarding unsafe practices and maintains the authority to discipline and/or remove violators from City pool property. Rescues swimmers in danger of drowning. Administers first aid and contacts emergency personnel as necessary. Inspects and maintains swimming facility, including general cleaning duties and pool maintenance. Collects money from pool patrons for admittance. Monitor patrons signing in to use the pool and ensures an accurate maintenance of such lists. Maintains all necessary records and writes and files reports on pool activities and specific incidents and accidents as required. Provides needed information and demonstrations concerning how to perform certain work task to new employees in the same or similar class of positions. Keeps immediate supervisor and designated others fully and accurately informed concerning work progress, including present and potential work problems and suggestions for new or improved ways of addressing such problems. Credentials and Experience Possession of a current Red Cross Basic Life Guarding, Life Guard Training or equivalent certification. Part-Time CustodianHead Start Part-Time Custodian General Description: The part-time custodian is responsible for performing general cleaning and minor maintenance repairs in Head Start Center(s) to which he or she is assigned. Specific Description: 1. Reports to work regularly and on time. Reports if they are ill or need to be absent to the Central office. 2. Checks centers before entering for visible evidence of vandalism, i.e. broken or open windows, open doors, missing air conditioners, computers, TV/VCR's, broken furniture or material in disarray. Reports any vandalism to the police, then to the Head Start Director, Lead Teacher and or Facilities/Maintenance Coordinator. 3. Ensures that all windows and doors are locked and alarm system is set before leaving the Center(s) each day. 4. Does general cleaning in the Head Start Center(s): a. Sweeps all non-carpeted areas daily and mop areas with Clorox or pine-sol solution. b. Rinse mop and pail with Clorox solution daily. Pail should be turned upside down to drain. c. Vacuum carpeted areas daily. d. Cleans toilets, urinals and face bowls daily, inside and out with pine-sol, comet or Clorox solution. e. Empties all garbage cans daily and places a new liner in each can. f. Washes garbage cans with Clorox or pine-sol every Friday or as needed and turn upside down to drain. g. Replaces soap, light bulbs, brooms and mops as needed. h. Strips non-carpeted floor areas and wax areas once each month. 5. Performs other duties assigned by the Head Start Director and Supervisor as needed for the program. Part-time position.

Teachers must provide an environment that stresses socialization, education, and recreation. This position is also responsible for the development of fun, educational classroom experiences and activities that are designed to guide the growth and development of the individual child towards his/her highest potential. III. Responsibilities and Duties: . Develop and implement daily lesson plans and daily schedules of developmentally appropriate activities on a weekly basis . Conduct ongoing observations, assessments referrals and evaluations of each child's progress . Plan daily activities jointly with the Extended Day Teacher Assistant .
